If there’s one thing that Jordan Brand has made clear in the first three months of the 2016 Calendar Year it’s this  

They have, and will plan on continuing to flood the market with new Jordan 12 releases.



The 12 has always been one of those Jordans that simply has had memorable colorways that have stood the test of time (Flu games, Playoffs, Taxis) and the last couple of months have seen new colorways become smash hits months before their respective releases.

The PSNY 12s dropped around Holiday Time on the East Coast and immediately became hits all around, even selling out faster than a New York Minute during a restock . They proceeded to sell out again at Jordan Brand's pop up shop in Songe during All-Star Weekend in Toronto within hours of the store opening up shop.

Another relevant example was the buzz that surrounded "The Master" 12. One would have thought with the extreme demand for the Cement 4 that came equipped with the Nike Air Logo on the back that this could have possibly been an easy cop. Wrong, Wrong, WRONG!!

Reports of fights breaking out over the shoe during its February release, combined with crazy resell prices shut any talk of that down. But any reasonable sneakerhead knows how that equation is going to go.

All black Jordans are rare to come by, a black unicorn in the game if you will. So what happens when you see one? You do anything to get it, and those gold eyelets were a perfect foil for that all black canvas (damn writing this makes me want to bust out my pair now, unbelievable how these things happen).

When pictures first spread of the Pink 12, the internet went abuzz only to find out it was a GS release. Of course many females wanted them, and to a lot of people's surprise many guys complained about the shoe not coming in Men's Sizes.

With an original February Release Date scheduled that signaled to many a "Valentine's Day" sneaker, the Jump Man pushed it back to early March and sold out immediately.

And that's the insane part. THIS 12 CRAZINESS IS FAR FROM OVER!! FAR FROM OVER.

We still are getting the French Blue 12 on March 26th later this Month, and of course who can forget the nuclear bomb soon to come this Summer with the Flu Game 12 ?

The lesson?

2016 will forever be known as the Year of the 12.
